From Thomas Alexander, 6 years old, a member of the
all-conquering Sharks 8/1 White team, here is his poem –
Tball:
Its finally here, its Saturday
The weather is good,
I'm keen to play.
All dressed in my uniform ready to go
The butterflies
are already starting to grow.
Time to practice with my glove and bat
Coach Bill
tells us where we are fielding at.
I'm fielding at shortstop for the match
Second
Innings I get a good catch.
The game is almost over I'm up at the plate
If I got
a home run that would be great.
The umpire says "Playball", I swing, it’s a hit
The
ball screams past the outfielders mitt.
Past First Base, Second then Third
Run for home is
all I heard.
The Giants throw, I slide for home base
The umpire’s
not sure but then he yells "Safe!"
